2012 Spring Recreation Classes
Choose from a host of recreational classes designed to keep you fit, active and inspired. Whether you want to study the ancient martial art of karate, learn a few vibrant dance moves, or achieve a balanced body and mind with meditation or yoga, the Club has the perfect program for you.

Cancellation Policy
- Students can participate in the first class before deciding whether or not to continue. Cancellation must be done by 9p.m. on the day of the first class. You will be billed one class fee and the remainder of the course fee is refunded.

Aikido
This class teaches children a variety of self-defense techniques in a relaxed atmosphere, including such basics as falling and rolling.

Essential Ballet

Baseball League (Spring)
Registration
The season for all spring leagues starts March 2012. The spring baseball program, which is offered to all children between the ages of 6 and 15, consists of three leagues: Cadet (grades 1 – 2), Junior (grades 3–5) and Senior (grades 6–8). Junior and Senior leagues are held every Sunday at the main field of the American School in Japan (ASIJ), Cadet league is held every Sunday at the middle field of the American School in Japan (ASIJ).
This program is designed to develop fundamental baseball skills and give participants an opportunity to use and further develop those skills in competitive games. Fun is an important element of the program.
Cadet League (Coed, grades 1-2)
"Cadet Baseball" is for Kindergarten, Grades 1 & 2. It is basic baseball instruction for beginning baseball players beyond T-ball. By the end of the six weeks, we hope to have players achieve five things: Catch the ball, throw the ball, hit the ball off a tee, hit a pitched ball and have a greater fundamental knowledge and appreciation for the game of baseball. Practices and games are held at ASIJ Middle Field.
Schedule: April 15 to May 20, Every Sunday, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Member: 10,500 yen per person, Guest: 12,600 yen per person. (The fee to include the cost of jersey and cap)
Junior League (Coed, grades 3–5)
Players have a blast while developing coordination and teamwork skills in this exciting, kid pitch league. Practices and games are held at ASIJ.
Senior League (Coed, grades 6–8)
Older players can enjoy the advanced competition of this kid pitch league, while coaching helps them develop skills at bat and out on the field. Practices and games are held at ASIJ.
Skill Check Day: March 11 Sunday. Junior League: 11 a.m.–1 p.m.; Senior League: 9–11 a.m.
Practice Schedule: From April 1, Every Sunday. Junior: Grade 3–5 / Sun PM, Senior: Grade 6–8 /Sun AM
Member: ¥23,625/ Non-member ¥26,250. Fee includes full uniform. Practices and game times will vary each week, but the Junior League will be held mostly in the afternoon and the Senior League in the morning. Each player is required to bring a glove to practice. Bats are optional. All other equipment is provided.

Basketball League
This unique basketball program is designed for all players to have a positive experience and plenty of fun, making "FUNdamentals" a vital part of each practice along with a variety of game play (3-on-3, 4-on-4, etc.). All the practices are held at the new Gym.

Boy Scouts
The Boy Scouts of America Troop 51 is sponsored by the Tokyo American Club and welcomes boys ages 11 to 18 interested in exploring outdoor Japan. Adventure, service, leadership and fun are themes of the troop's activities with monthly outings that include hiking, beach camping, backpacking, canoeing in the Japan Alps, building snow caves and climbing Mt Fuji.

Judo
Judo (literally “the way of gentleness’) is a unique martial art established in 1882 as a safer distillation of Jiu-jitsu, a method of unarmed combat among samurai warriors. Techniques include throwing, hold downs and, as proficiency progresses, choking and joint locking. Students will develop confidence, physical fitness and social responsibility as they learn the basics.
