Registration for the 2008 Youth Basketball Program begins in October. We will be offering the following programs which will all be held at the Nishimachi School gym either on Saturday or Sunday: Coed Cadets for 3rd and 4th graders; Coed Juniors for 5th and 6th graders; Coed Seniors for 7th and 8th graders), and the Girls program for 3rd to 5th graders and 5th to 7th graders. The Coed Pee Wee program for 1st and 2nd graders is held at the Club. This program invites parents to help with the coaching.

First practices will be held on the weekend of January 12/13 and will run until March 15, 2008. The Girls and Cadets will play on Saturdays while the Juniors and Seniors will have practices on Sundays. The PeeWees practice on Saturday afternoons at the Club.
The fee for all leagues held at NIS is 24,675 yen. The Pee Wee program will be 15,750 yen per child. Coaching, uniforms and a professional photo award are included in the fees.

Head coach Dan Weiss (former University of Santa Clara and Japan pro league player) handles all the coaching at Nishimachi, while Scott Novosel takes on the challenge with the Peewees at the Club.

Fundamentals will always be the key component in the basketball program and the coaches ensure the kids have a positive, fun experience.

Though we will have professional coaches running the entire program, parents' help is always needed to not only assist in the skills training but to help manage the groups during the scrimmages. The registration form has a place to check off your interest.
