Grasshopper Soccer, headed by Michael Gunning and Nigel Chisholm, will be back to provide what is simply one of the best youth coaching programs available in Tokyo. The overall focus of all Grasshopper soccer programs is fun, skill development and applying your skills in small-sided games for maximum learning and enjoyment. The fall program is offered to children aged between three and 12.

Saturday Programs

1) Mite-E Soccer for Co-Ed 3-year-olds
Session time: 8:30-9:15 a.m. Mite-e Soccer is a fantastic, non-competitive start to learning soccer skills. A parent is required for each practice . This unique curriculum was developed with early childhood experts. The early morning time frame is perfect when the kids have a bundle of energy.

Session times: 9:30-10:25 a.m. and 10:30-11:25 a.m. Each 50-minute session requires one parent to participate at every practice with their child. The children will be introduced in a fun way to shooting, dribbling and ball manipulation skills and gain the confidence to enjoy soccer for years to come. Please note desired time on the form. Be advised that if your desired time is full, we will place you in the other session.

This is all about game time against your peers to motivate all players. There is a full season of matches. Coaching will still involve a lot of fundamental skills, but there will be more focus on positional play and tactical understanding.

The overall objective is to provide a fantastic soccer experience for each child. This is achieved by presenting a fun, yet educational, curriculum and adopting a highly personal and individualized approach to coaching. Grasshopper Soccer, which runs the program, specializes in coaching younger players and has operations in Australia and the United States. Each instructor holds an advanced coaching license and is highly trained in working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds.
