The Mudsharks swim team will have a new class to accommodate the full range of swimming levels. Two groups of Mini Muddies will practice twice a week for 45 minutes per session to allow participants to get used to longer swimming times.
Trials
Monday, March 31: 5-6 p.m.
Thursday, April 3: 5-6 p.m.
Saturday, April 5: 9-11 p.m.
Qualifications
Children who have not achieved basic swimming skills should not register for this program. Paricipants should be able to swim one lap of the Pool freestyle, have an acquaintance with other strokes and have the stamina to complete the necessary drills of a typical practice session. All swimmers will need to wear goggles and girls should wear a swimming cap.
The number of participants in each group is strictly controlled to ensure maximum safety and a proper learning environment. Once the available spaces in each group are filled, other registrants will be placed on the waiting list.
Levels and Training
Mini Muddies
Practice: Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday: 4:30-5:15 p.m.
The Mini Muddies is designed to bridge the gap between the Marlins and the Junior squad of the Mudsharks. Swimmers must be over five years of age and have freestyle fully formed, with side breathing for 50 meters and some capability in backstroke and breastroke. All Mini Muddies are welcome to participate in any Mudsharks swim meet or event and will all receive a Mudsharks swimsuit. 10 participants per group.
Registration fee: ¥23,100
Junior
Practice: Tuesday and Thursday: 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Emphasis is on stroke correction and development. Short distances are used in most drills. Participants should have formed strokes in freestyle and one other stroke for distances of 50 and 75 meters. Participants are expected to attend no less than 15 sessions. 30 participants.

Intermediate
Practice: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Emphasis on advanced drills, stamina training over longer distances and improvement of technique. Swimmers should be capable of swimming 50 and 100 meters by three stokes with good technique. Participants are expected to attend no less than 22 sessions. 30 participants. Registration fee: ¥25,200
Senior
Practice: Monday-Friday: 6:15-7:30 p.m.
Given their heavier school workload, Seniors may work out individual schedules with the instructor. However, a minimum of three sessions per week (Saturday is an option) are required to achieve any results from the training program. Swimmers that have all four strokes, turns and the individual medley perfected, and can swim distances of up to 400 meters. 25 participants. Registration fee: ¥26,250
Terms
Participation in the Club Mudsharks Swim Team Program requires participant to attend a minimum number of sessions to remain in good standing. Participants will be required to follow instructions and conduct themselves responsibly at all times while on Club property or while participating in any event away from the Club. Failure to abide by these standards may constitute grounds for removal from the program without refund of registration fee.
Season
Mini Muddies: April 7-May 29 (8 weeks)
Juniors-Seniors: April 7-June 13 (10 weeks)
Cancellation policy
Cancellation during the first week or before the program starts: no penalty
Cancellation during the second week: 25% penalty
Cancellation during the third week: 50% penalty
Cancellation after the third week: 100% penalty
