friendship circles

Are you ready to meet new friends after just moving to Tokyo? Maybe you have lived in Tokyo for several years and all of your friends have moved away. Or perhaps you’re just trying to get your spouse more socially involved.

Whatever the reason, try one of our Friendship Circles—special interest groups that make life in Tokyo a little more exciting and fun. If you’d like to form a new Friendship Circle, please e-mail Friendshipcircle@tacweb.org .

Entrepreneurs
If you are interested in starting your own business or want to meet other business owners, this inspirational friendship circle should stimulate creativity and provide insight into how to start and run a business. For more information, e-mail Huntly at entrepreneurfriendshipcircle@tacweb.org .

Gourmet Dining

Join this group of foodies as it explores Tokyo’s vast larder once a month. For more information, e-mail Melanie at gourmetdiningfriendshipcircle@tacweb.org

Cooking Circle
This group meets once a month at a different member’s kitchen to swap cooking tips and recipe ideas. The host of the month chooses a favorite dish and demonstrates how to prepare it to the rest of the group—Martha Stewart-style! We are looking for a new leader. If you are interested, please e-mail cookingfriendshipcircle@tacweb.org .

FIT (Fit In Tokyo)
FIT is a friendship group that meets to help support each other in our weight loss journey in Tokyo. Similar to Weight Watchers or other weight-loss groups, we give encouragement and continuing reminders of ways to keep fit. We take turns each week to select a topic and lead the discussion. Members can weigh in at home or at the Recreation Department before the meeting. We normally meet on Fridays at 11:30 a.m. in the Family Lobby. Feel free to just show up, or please e-mail Mary Kay for any questions you may have at FITfriendshipcircle@tacweb.org

New!
Bosom Buddies Tokyo
If you are a breast cancer survivor, we hope you will join Bosom Buddies Tokyo, a breast-cancer support group for foreigners and English-speaking Japanese women. Bosom Buddies Tokyo is where women, who have or have had breast cancer, gather together to share their experiences, learn coping techniques and find emotional support through the strength and warmth of embracing friendships. Bosom Buddies Tokyo women help each other to get on with their lives. For more information, contact Karen at karen.divito@gmail.com .
