Update: Keeping Your Club Safe |
|
Dear Member,
With the number of cases of novel coronavirus, also known as the Covid-19 virus, continuing to grow, the Club is taking additional rigorous measures to safeguard the health of Members and staff.
The Club will soon introduce 100% membership card checks and temperature screening of Members and their guests arriving at the Club.
Should a person have a temperature higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius, they will be refused entry to the Club.
Large Club-organized events scheduled for March, such as the First Friday get-together, have been cancelled. Please visit the Club website to check exactly which events or programs have been cancelled.
In addition to discontinuing buffets and salad bars, the Club restaurant service staff have begun wearing hygiene masks and gloves.
Hand sanitizers have also been placed at all Club entrances. Members and guests are requested to sanitize their hands before entering the facility.
In the unfortunate event that you contract the virus, please notify the Club’s Management Office immediately.
Club leadership and the management team are continuously monitoring developments throughout the greater Tokyo area and would like to remind Members to refrain from visiting the Club for a period of 14 days if they have recently traveled to China, South Korea, Italy or Iran or have been in contact with those who have. You are also reminded to ensure that any guests you accompany to the Club satisfy these conditions as well.
The Club continues to sanitize well-used facility spaces every 30 to 60 minutes and the Club’s response team is in regular contact with the US Embassy and the Minato Public Health Center.
In the meantime, Members are encouraged to visit the Club website for regular updates and useful information and are reminded to practice normal flu season precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention such as washing hands for at least 20 seconds, avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth and staying home when feeling ill.
On behalf of the Board of Governors, thank you your understanding and cooperation in helping us to keep our community safe and healthy during this critical time.
Michael Alfant
Representative Governor
