Keeping Your Club Safe:
Temporary Club Closure |
|
In response to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures, the Japanese government has declared a state of emergency. In doing so, the Tokyo government will issue emergency measures requesting residents to remain at home for all but essential activities. While the specifics of these measures have yet to be communicated, based on preliminary reports we have received, we expect them to directly impact our Club.
Given this development, the Board of Governors has made the difficult decision to temporarily close the Club from 11pm tonight. In the coming days, Club management and the Board of Governors will review the government’s guidelines to better understand how the measures impact our Club. At that point, and in consideration of the safety of our Members and employees, we will determine whether we can provide any services that are consistent with the government’s instruction, or if we need to remain closed for the duration of this emergency.
We do not take this decision lightly, and we recognize the profound impact it will have on the lives of everyone. However, safety remains our top priority, and we have a responsibility to do our part to help slow the spread of the virus.
As ever, you can review related Club updates on the Keeping Your Club Safe webpage.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during these uncertain times. Stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you back to your Club soon.
