What will I learn in this class?
Through the basic principles of hatha yoga—the most commonly practiced form of yoga—students learn how to make slow, controlled movements in time with their breathing while maintaining posture balance and body alignment. The class also introduces techniques for core muscle engagement, meditating, breath regulation (pranayama) and vinyasa “flow” movement.

What are the benefits of this class?
This class helps to build strength and flexibility while improving balance and body alignment. Students also find greater self-awareness, increased energy and lower levels of stress.

Who will teach this class?
Harue Yamamoto has been practicing yoga for more than 15 years. She became a Yoga Alliance-certified yoga instructor in 2016 after completing the required 200 hours of training under the guidance of Shana Meyerson. In 2019, she took a continuing education course for yoga teachers at the Ramaswami school of yoga. She also completed a course in transcendental meditation in Beverly Hills in 2016.
