What will I learn in this class?
Familiarize yourself with the aromas and sample the flavors of traditional Taiwanese cuisine.
Students will follow the instructor’s lead to make Taiwanese beef noodle soup, a stewed or braised beef and beef broth mix perfect for winter weather. The instructor will provide noodles and pickled vegetables plus complimentary sweets and Chinese tea.
All recipes will be provided to participants. Please inform the instructor of any dietary restrictions.
Who teaches this class?
Yoko Yanagisawa is a native of Taiwan who started cooking in her parents’ traditional restaurant in middle school. She has attended cooking schools in Japan and Taiwan and also took lessons from private instructors. Yanagisawa served as chairperson for the Chinese booth for two years at Nishimachi International School’s annual food fair.
