Bamboo Lantern Making

Brighten up your home with a handcrafted Japanese lamp.

Participants select a motif design, such as cherry blossoms or snowflakes, before using a drill and sander to produce their own bamboo lantern. This stylish and sturdy light will make an eye-catching addition to any room.

If the weather is good, students can later enjoy a relaxing stroll in the nearby bamboo grove.

Instructor
Yukino Enjoji began looking after a bamboo grove about three years ago. As she learned more about the malleable and sustainable resource, she launched her own bamboo basket- and lantern-making classes. She teaches in English and Japanese. Explore her works on her Instagram page.
