The Art of Japanese Table Arrangement

Learn how to create a beautiful table arrangement of Japanese plates and lacquerware for a meal.

This class is designed to help Members decipher the variety of Japanese tableware and their uses, from serving dishes and rice bowls, or chawan, to plates and lacquer soup bowls, or shiruwan.

Students will pick up pointers on coordinating tableware and how to use dishes for different occasions and types of food, not just Japanese.

With a diplôme d’animation florale artistique from France’s Floral Art Association, Chikako Yoshimoto specializes in French-style flower arrangements. The longtime Connections member has trained in European floral design in Britain and France.
