Sogetsu Ikebana

Established in 1927, the Sogestu school of ikebana flower arrangement features both standard and freeform styles.

What will I learn in this class?
Learn about the principles of flower arrangement in the Sogetsu school, a methodology that encourages expression and artistry over defined procedures. Students create their own arrangements they can display at home while learning skills to help them continue this introspective hobby outside of the Club. Students can arrive at any time during each class’s two-hour window to complete their arrangements, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Students unable to attend a scheduled session can arrange a make-up lesson with the instructor.

Who teaches this class?
Kumiko Fujimura is a certified Sogetsu instructor and has been practicing ikebana since her college years when she began assisting classes at the Club.
