It’s not just about profits anymore.
In a world of climate change and rapidly shifting societal attitudes, companies increasingly have to place their social and environmental responsibilities on an equal footing with those to their shareholders.
In her new book Leading Sustainably, Club governor Trista Bridges Bivens (pictured) and co-author Donald Eubank explore the highs and lows of more than 100 business ventures’ attempts to reposition themselves toward a more sustainable way of doing business.
At this enlightening discussion, Bridges Bivens explores success stories, challenges to come and potential strategies for companies to explore as the United Nations’ 2030 goal for its 17 Sustainable Development Goals draws near.
“People just have to understand that it’s going to take some time to develop this–keeping in mind that we don’t have loads of time,” says Bridges Bivens. “I think in the next five to 10 years, you’re going to start seeing a lot more structure and helpful tools for people to be able to incorporate into their work more easily.”
