The Board of Governors hosts a farewell gathering for the Club’s outgoing general manager, Anthony Cala.
Members are free to drop by this casual get-together in the Winter Garden at any time and offer their regards to Tony.
While the Board was keen to organize a larger event to recognize Tony (pictured) for his nine years of dedicated Club service, Tony felt that in light of the ongoing pandemic challenges it was prudent to keep the event low-key.
Since joining the Club in 2012, Tony has played a critical role in guiding Members and staff through an evolving economic and social landscape. After navigating the uncertain aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, Tony's leadership helped advance the Club's profile not only in Japan but worldwide.
This culminated in 2017 with recognition as a Distinguished Club by BoardRoom magazine and, for the Club's 90th anniversary in 2018, with inclusion on the Club Leaders Forum's top 100 list of Platinum City Clubs of the World.
With the opening of the Nihonbashi clubhouse, the first satellite facility in the Club’s history, earlier this year, Tony has left an indelible mark on the Club's legacy.
"On behalf of the membership, I would like to express our thanks for Tony's dedicated service to the Club over the past nine years," says Michael Benner, the Club's representative governor.
