Olympic Torch at the Club

Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Members will have a chance to view an Olympic torch from the last time the city staged the Games.

In July, an official torch from the 1964 torch relay will be on display in the Family Lobby, courtesy of Coca-Cola Japan, a global sponsor of the Olympics since 1928.

On October 10, 1964, the National Stadium’s cauldron was lit by Yoshinori Sakai (pictured), a Waseda University runner born in Hiroshima on the day the atomic bomb was dropped.

The XXXII Olympiad kicks off on July 24, 2020.

During the Games, the Club will host Team USA in its role as USA House, the hospitality hub of the United States Olympic Committee.
