“There is so much happening when a child reads a picture book,” says author and illustrator Tad Hills.
“They’re not only learning how to read and spell, they’re learning about emotions.”
All the way from his own Brooklyn home, Hills visits the Club for a special Wednesday Storytime.
Whether young readers are fluent in English or just mastering their alphabet, the award-winning children’s book author hopes to inspire the same love of books he gained as a child.
“No one is too old for picture books,” Hills says. “The bottom line is: whatever helps the child become a confident, curious and lifelong reader.”
