“The ukulele is an approachable instrument,” says Xuemin Oh.
“It’s tuned in such a way that even when you play without knowing how, it still sounds good.”
Singaporean Oh, whose musical aptitude also runs to the piano, guitar and drums, will introduce the four-stringed instrument at a June 26 workshop that should appeal to experienced strummers and fresh-faced novices alike.
“We do a two- or three-chord song and then build our skills from there,” she says.
“Musicality is definitely a skill that can be learned.”
