The Club celebrates California’s newest official winegrowing region with a dinner of superlative wines paired with five courses of local flavors.
West Sonoma Coast was designated an American Viticultural Area (AVA) last year, the 19th AVA in Sonoma County, and this special evening will feature the wines of eight wineries from the West Sonoma Coast Vintners.
“The approval of the AVA recognizes the region’s unique maritime growing conditions that are clearly expressed in the wines and give proper distinction to the growers who farm this cold, marginal viticultural region,” reported American Vineyard magazine last year.
The winemakers and owners from the cool-climate, mountainous area renowned for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are Ross Cobb (Cobb Wines), Joseph Ryan (Ernest Vineyards), Akiko Freeman (Freeman Vineyard & Winery), Ted Lemon (Littorai Wines), Andy Peay (Peay Vineyards), Christopher Strieter (Senses Wines), Todd Kohn (Wayfarer) and Carroll Kemp (Alma Fria).
Members and their guests will enjoy a 45-minute tasting and explanation from four of the wineries before the dinner itself.
