Gallery Exhibition: Talent Knows No Handicap

The Club embraces inclusiveness in art this month as it exhibits the work of artists from Pasona Heartful’s Art Mura.

Pasona Heartful is dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities through inclusive employment opportunities and fostering social change. Its own art studio, Art Mura, employs artists with disabilities to create works that are sold or rented out to corporations.

The exhibition, “Talent Knows No Handicap,” reflects that ethos.

Makoto Nakagaki, who has been with Pasona Heartful for 16 years, is one of 24 Art Mura creators.

“Once I complete a painting, I’m thinking about what different patterns and colors I can use on the next one,” says Nakagaki, who enjoys depicting nature in her paintings.

Junko Fukasawa, Pasona Heartful’s president, believes that employment is one way to help disabled people.

“Our philosophy is that talent knows no handicap,” she says.

The artworks from Art Mura’s third Club exhibition (works have also been exhibited at Haneda Airport and the National Art Center in Roppongi) will be on display from August 15 through September 11.

Artworks are available for purchase through Member Services.
