Indian Delights: Vegetarian Classics from Northern India

Savor the aromas and flavors of Indian cuisine.

While Indian food is popular around the world, this class will introduce students to some much-loved vegetarian dishes from northern India.

Over the course of the morning, students will watch the instructor prepare and cook the spice-filled selection.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions about Indian culture and food along the way, with the class culminating in a sumptuous, multicourse lunch.

Sample Menu

  • Garlic naan
  • Palak paneer (spinach and cottage cheese curry)
  • Aloo gobi (cauliflower and potato curry)
  • Vegetable kebab with mint and coriander chutney
  • Boondi raita (yogurt and spices)
  • Dal tadka (yellow lentil curry)
  • Cumin rice with whole spices


Hema Parekh is a certified cooking teacher, nutritionist, culinary consultant and author of several cookbooks, including The Asian Vegan Kitchen and The South Indian Vegetarian Kitchen. Over her 25-year career, she has cooked for visiting heads of state and royalty. The Club Member holds a diploma in diet and nutrition for obesity management from the Indian Institute of Cosmetology, Trichology and Nutrition.
