Tokyo’s Contemporary Art: Opening Night

Are you ready for the Tokyo art scene’s biggest night of the year?


What will I learn in this class?
After an introductory lecture on the goings-on and need-to-know names of contemporary art in Tokyo, collect your pass for the March 19 private opening of Art Fair Tokyo, a three-day annual exhibition featuring more than 150 gallerists. Valued at ¥20,000 ($180), this pass provides priority access to mingle with artists, collectors and critics and enter the exclusive after-party like the VIP you are.

What is the goal of this class?
In addition to taking their first steps into the vibrant Tokyo art scene, students will experience a premier event in preferential status.

Who teaches this class?
Noriko Kashiwagi is a certified art appraiser with degrees from Sophia University and New York University and experience leading tours for The Phillips Collection in Washington DC and the Noguchi Museum outside Manhattan. Kashiwagi also organizes exhibitions of emerging artists for the ANA Intercontinental Hotel in Akasaka.
