Tokyo American Club is a private members’ club. It is also a community, owned and governed by the Members, through a Board of Governors and various committees and task forces, for the benefit of the Members. We are looking for applicants who can contribute to our international community. I. Qualified applicants must submit a completed application form and two completed recommendation forms from existing Members (Proposer and Seconder). The responses in your application should highlight your qualifications under the standards of "good character, financial standing and reputation". A Proposer and Seconder must be Resident, Company Transferable, Term Regular or Senior/Emeritus Members in good standing for more than one year. Please choose your Proposer and Seconder carefully, as their recommendations will be an integral part of your application. In particular, please make sure that you have a meaningful relationship with your Proposer/Seconder, as we will consider not only the length of time the Proposer/Seconder has known you, but the nature of your relationship and the details of the recommendation from your Proposer/Seconder as we evaluate your application. II. Qualified applicants are required to attend an interview reception with members of the Board of Governors and the Membership Committee and an orientation. III. Acceptance to the Club is subject to the Membership Committee’s review. Final approval of any application shall be by resolution of the Board of Governors.
