Inspiring Young Minds in Fukushima

Be an ambassador of English during a fun-packed weekend of community, education and culture in Fukushima.

Join a group of native English-speaking Members and organizers for two memorable days of interactive English sessions with schoolchildren and locals.

As part of the Club’s longstanding partnership with Fukushima City and its board of education, this latest program will see Club volunteers visit a junior high school on the first day and meet children and parents at a community center on the second day.

Since 2011’s Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the Club has built a strong relationship with communities in Fukushima, with homestays and school visits among the many initiatives organized as part of the Club’s Fukushima Kids Program.

Overnight, Members will stay at Yamaneya, a traditional ryokan inn in the hot-spring resort of Tsuchiyu Onsen.

The weekend promises to be a rewarding one of intercultural exchange in an enchanting part of Japan.
