The Japanese Incense Ceremony for Well-Being

The Japanese incense ceremony, kodo, is a means of creating inner stillness, connecting practitioners to an eternal essence that transforms the heart, nourishes the soul, and fosters spiritual, mental, and physical well-being through mindful presence.

Beyond traditional appreciation, participants also experience fermented signature incenses—neriko and kyphi—crafted by Eriyo Watanabe.

Instructor
Eriyo Watanabe has been teaching Japanese incense ceremony and incense-making lessons for 20 years. Well-known for her original incense, she is a grand master of the Renshin school of incense, a director of the Incense Research Institute, and a specially appointed professor at Nihon Pharmaceutical University.
