Update: Keeping Your Club Safe |
|
Dear Member,
With the number of coronavirus (recently named Covid-19) cases in China and beyond continuing to rise, I would like to reassure you about the measures we are taking at your Club to safeguard the health of both Members and staff.
Club management has been working closely with the Minato Public Health Center and the US Embassy since last month and has set up a response team to oversee Club communications and actions.
You will have noticed the additional alcohol-based hand sanitizers distributed throughout the Club and housekeeping staff have been regularly sanitizing well-used facility spaces.
As an additional measure, from next week staff and vendors arriving at the Club will have their temperature checked.
If you have recently returned from China or have been in contact with somebody who has just returned, we ask that you refrain from visiting the Club for 14 days.
In the meantime, we encourage you to follow the advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Detailed coronavirus information can be found on the CDC website.
On behalf of the Board of Governors and Club management, thank you for helping us to keep our community safe and healthy.
We will update you again next week.
