The Club offers musically minded Members the opportunity to pick up an instrument, hone a skill or practice in private.

The Club's two soundproofed Music Rooms are the perfect place to practice singing or an instrument, and one of the rooms features an upright piano.

One-hour sessions can be booked free of charge by contacting the Recreation Desk.


Mari Terada (Instructor)
An award-winning concert pianist who graduated from Essen National Music College in Germany and the École Normale de Musique de Paris in France. She has taught a range of abilities, from preschool to professional.

Emy Todoroki-Schwartz (Instructor)
A native of Tokyo, Emy Todoroki-Shwartz enjoys a busy schedule as a soloist and chamber musician. She was an adjunct faculty at New York University and has worked with students of various ability levels and ages.

Mana Totsuka (Instructor)
Moved to the United States in 2008 to study at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was a Janet Rose Piano Scholarship recipient. She has performed in recitals across the US, as well as in Italy, China and Japan, and has taken master classes with the likes of Enrico Elisi, Christina Dahl and Yong Hi Moon.

Motoko Tokoro (Instructor)
Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music and the University of Southern California, where she earned her master’s in music. She has performed as a soloist, as well as a chamber and studio musician. She has taught students of various ability levels and ages. She can also advise students who wish to purchase a violin.

Hana Hatakenaka (Instructor)
Professional violin and viola musician. Born in Australia, she attended schools in Japan, France and China. After graduating from Tokyo College of Music, she studied for her master’s degree at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She later joined Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra and, for one year, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. Hana continues to perform and teaches children.

Vocal & Guitar

Yuma Nozaki (Instructor)
Graduated Keio University and spent time as an exchange student at Stanford University. Yuma began his career as a singer-songwriter and has years of experience teaching vocal training at a private high school, as well as private guitar lessons. He also has experience teaching kids with special needs.
