What will I learn in this class?
Students will get a taste of traditional Japanese karate in a unique twist. This class seamlessly blends music into the sports’ core concepts and kata.

Develop the skillset of basic karate moves, such as punches, kicks, defensive tactics (uke) and stances, while embracing the beat of the music. This class is a perfect starting point for beginners, offering easy-to-understand guidance.

What are the benefits of this class?
Karate, through its conditioning movements, enhances core strength, balance and flexibility, while promoting proper posture that boosts metabolism, aids in fat burning and fortifies the core.

Who will teach this class?
Emiri Iwamoto, with 27 years of karate practice since age 8, spent a decade on the Japan National Team. Her accomplishments include three Premier League victories and ranking first place at The Asian Championships. Notably, she achieved ranked first in the world in 2017.

Cancellations

  • To cancel a booking, Members must contact the Recreation Desk at least 24 hours before the class.
  • Members who fail to cancel at least 24 hours before their class will be charged ¥1,320.
  • No-shows will be charged ¥1,320.
