Prenatal yoga helps women develop the mind-body skills useful when going through the stresses of labor. Yoga can help women access deep stores of emotional strength and confidence during periods of high stress.
What are the benefits of this class?
Regular yoga practice can improve sleep and reduce stress and anxiety. Exercises can also increase strength, flexibility and endurance necessary for labor. Students can also use the same techniques learned in class to help their bodies recover after childbirth.
Who will teach this class?
Marjorie Meyssignac has studied yoga since 1999. She has visited India twice to train with Iyengar yoga masters Geeta and Preshant Iyengar. She began teaching in 2004 and has experience in Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Synergy yoga as well.
