From stressed-out, overweight couch potato to ultrarunner and coach. Tomokazu Ihara’s life transformation is nothing short of remarkable.
In this latest presentation in the TAC Talk series, the 43-year-old shares his journey to fitness and his passion for trail running.
“It was like thunder in my head,” Ihara says of the first time he hit the trails of Mount Takao on the western outskirts of Tokyo in 2008. “The beautiful atmosphere was stunning. I fell in love with trail running that day.”
He will also discuss his latest challenge: to complete 100 100-mile (160-kilometer) races.
With 56 finish lines already crossed, Ihara will explain what it takes to run such long distances in challenging terrain.
Those Members who would like to discover the joys of trail running can join Ihara’s outdoor clinic in Takao on December 18.
