Temari Ball Workshop

Delicate and detailed, traditional temari toy balls have been prized in Japan for more than a millennium.

What will I learn in this class?
Temari balls and their fascinating designs have captivated viewers for centuries with their simple yet intricate beauty. In this class, students learn to create three different temari using wrapping and patterning techniques in colors that match their own style and panache.

Who teaches this class?
Neelu Jain has a master's in apparel design from India’s National Institute of Design and a master's in fashion merchandising from the United States’ Wayne State University. Since coming to Japan 15 years ago, Jain discovered the art of temari and has since obtained a master certificate from the Japan Temari Association.

Jain spoke to INTOUCH magazine about her passion in 2018.
