Distinguished Achievement Award Presentation

The Club recognizes retired diplomat Ichiro Fujisaki for his work strengthening US-Japan relations during a four-decade career.

Japan’s former ambassador to the United States will receive the Club's Distinguished Achievement Award at a presentation ceremony before discussing his years with Japan's foreign ministry.

Fujisaki, who also served as Japan's ambassador to the United Nations and World Trade Organization in Geneva, is now president of the America-Japan Society.

Established in 1995, the Distinguished Achievement Award honors individuals who have made contributions to improving society and international relations, especially between the US and Japan.

Past recipients include Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata, American scholar of Japanese literature Edward Seidensticker and Sadako Ogata, the former United Nations high commissioner for refugees.
