Wines of the Month

As summer approaches, it’s time to plan your weekend balcony or garden get-togethers.

To help you prepare for summer days, Masumi Kawamoto of the Wine & Beverage Committee has selected three bottles from North America’s cooler climes, all available from the shelves of The Cellar.

And if you purchase at least three bottles of any combination of her recommended trio, you’ll receive a 10 percent discount.

The wines are also available through the Club’s online Wine Shop.

  • 2020 Tawse Winery ‘Spark’ Limestone Ridge Riesling, Canada
“An outstanding sparkler made from single-vineyard, biodynamic and organic Riesling grapes using the same traditional method as champagne. With rich notes of caramel apple, coconut and brioche, this wine has a luscious mousse and lasting finish that pairs beautifully with salty, fatty dishes like fried vegetable spring rolls or triple-cream Brie on salted crostini.”

  • 2022 Rosewood Estates Winery PTG, Canada
“This light-to-medium-bodied red cuvée from Ontario is delicious served slightly chilled. The Passe-Tout-Grains style typically blends Gamay and Pinot Noir, but this Canadian PTG’s Gamay Noir dances with Cabernet Franc and Blaufränkisch for a snappy, refreshing palate of cranberry juice and strawberry rhubarb jam with brambleberries on the nose and light spicy notes. Enjoy with cured meats, chicken or duck.”

  • 2021 Dunham Cellars Three Legged Red, Washington
“From the Walla Walla Valley comes a red blend that overdelivers on quality with aromas of crushed raspberries, lemon drops and a wee bit of pepper. Notes of blackberry tea and citrus complement a tangy acidity and slippery texture. Aged in the same barrels used for the winery’s finest Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah, it matches their top wines at a friendly price.”
