Young Librarians Program

Discover what it’s like to work behind the scenes in a library.

Ideal for budding bibliophiles, the Library’s Young Librarians Program offers the opportunity for kids to gain hands-on experience in a fun and meaningful way.

During the one-month program, participants will be paired with Library staff and be able to explore responsibilities like shelving and organizing books, assisting with cataloguing, helping patrons with inquiries and supporting library events.

As they take part in a variety of age-appropriate activities, children will develop responsibility, confidence and teamwork. Participants receive a certificate of completion recognizing their dedication and newly acquired skills at the end of the program.

Don’t miss this chance to make this summer a season of growth and learning!

The program will be offered to two age ranges:

  • Juniors (ages 9–12): Once a week for a 2.5-hour session on Saturday or Sunday
  • Seniors (ages 13–16): Once a week for a 4-hour session on Wednesday or Thursday
