Thirty-years ago, the Swiss owner of Napa Valley winery Cuvaison, Alexander Schmidheiny, commissioned his friend, the iconic pop artist Andy Warhol, to design some wine labels.
The first series of “Andy Warhol by Cuvaison” two-bottle sets, with labels featuring Warhol’s artwork, will be released later this year.
At this casual evening, Cuvaison President Jay Schuppert will explain the remarkable story behind the New York artist and filmmaker’s silkscreen print art for the winery.
Established in 1969, Cuvaison produces distinctive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Napa region of Carneros.
