Charity Gala at Tokyo American Club

The Club’s inaugural event offers the opportunity to make a difference while enjoying an unforgettable evening.

Begin the night with a tempting selection of tapas and beverages, which will be followed by a lavish multicourse dinner (menu below) that includes pâté de campagne and filet of beef with Creole barbecued lobster tail.

The gala will be emceed by renowned media personality Mai Shoji, with the jazz stylings of Andrea L. Hopkins-Borroni creating a perfectly glamorous musical atmosphere.

You can also bid on fantastic prizes in a live auction led by the inimitable Stuart O as well as a silent auction. Or play roulette, craps or blackjack at the gaming tables, and you’ll be able to trade in your winnings for vouchers to draw for everything from fine bottles of wine to hotel stays.

All proceeds for the gala will go to support Connections’ education-focused charities. Do-It Japan is a project affiliated with the University of Tokyo’s Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology that is aimed at fostering leaders among children and young people with disabilities and illnesses. Bridge for Smile is a nonprofit that supports foster children, teaching them the skills they will need to live independently once they turn 18 and leave their foster homes.

The Tokyo Visitation Support Center is dedicated to facilitating visitation between children and parents who are separated or divorced. Art de Vivre operates a creative space for people with disabilities in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Comhbo is an organization that promotes evidence-based, high-quality mental health services and awareness activities including mental health literacy in schools.

Don’t miss what is sure to be an evening of black-tie elegance, exquisite cuisine and thrilling casino games—all in support of a worthy cause.
